I don’t like to get super personal here, but I have felt the urge to share this. I hear friends say, “take more pictures with your kids! You’ll regret it if you don’t!” But I see these and it just makes me sad. Sad to see how unhealthy I have become. How much stress I started to carry in weight. I am sharing this picture today because I am proud of Annie. She works hard at practice everyday, but also because I want to let everyone know that I do see myself. I see that my jeans no longer button. That I scroll through other people’s workouts, but rarely get one in myself. That I ate a dang snickers at 10 o’clock at night after I got home from class. Every night I go to sleep trying to convince myself to wake up, run (mostly walk) or swim and eat well darn IT - but every day I fail again. I am in need of some serious will power, or at least some accountability. I don’t want to be tired, short of breath, or constantly achy anymore. I certainly don’t want to be an embarrassment. The hardest part is knowing that this is NOT who I am. I am a runner, a swimmer, a weight lifter. I love good (CLEAN) food and all things fitness, but it is so so so difficult to go from running an eight minute mile to hardly running a minute. I do love this picture, only because it has my sweet Annie, and it was a wonderful captured moment. The last 2 years have been really difficult for me, and it is my goal to release it all in the form of lost pounds. I hope that in sharing this today, I can share a new one shortly down the road of a better (happier and healthier) version of myself.
