4 years. 2 new babies. 1 broken foot. A million excuses daily. I started back at CrossFit today, interesting fact about myself: I love to lift weights - one of my favorite things, but honestly I thought the entire drive there, "What have I done and how can I get out of this?” . I was afraid. Afraid of looking ridiculous. Afraid that I would compare myself to my past self. And afraid of the possible judgement I might receive. I have wanted to join a group since moving back to Winfield, because I thrive in group settings, but listened to the excuse I kept telling myself, that I wanted to lose a little weight first, maybe I wouldn't be so embarrassed then, which never happened. Instead, I kept gaining and becoming more unhealthy. More unlike myself. A lingering and lasting secret depression leads to a lot of excuses to live unhealthily. The momma in this picture is at her happiest. And fittest. The last few years have been a learning experience that I can tuck away and save for when I need it, but I am ready to move forward. New studies, a new home, a new career. We can't take care of others if at first we don't take care of ourselves. When I was leaving, I noticed a sign above the door. It said something to the extent of -those who are fearful are demonstrating an outward weakness- but in different words. Which in my case, is absolutely true. My fears only prevent me from my accomplishments.
